This is what Nick said to me when he asked me to marry him. I am convinced that this phrase summarizes the story of the two of us:

"We are having fun forever."

Of course, this is Vane writing. If you know Nick well, you know he won't spend a second writing here. Instead, he will spend long minutes every morning covering me up to make sure I am all comfy in bed while giving me about 15 "besitos" all over my face before he heads out to work.

We met on February 29, 2020 for our first date after months of chatting. When we met, Nick had a perfectly thought-out exit plan in case things didn’t go as expected. Our date was initially intended to last a mere 15 minutes – "just one drink," he said. "I have a doctor’s appointment", he texted. The clock struck 6 pm on that Saturday, and I didn't buy it for a second. Instead, our date stretched into the night, it included more than one drink and a couple of tacos for dinner. I guess It's safe to say it went better than expected!

That might have been the first fib he ever told me, yet I am equally convinced it remains the sole untruth he has ever said to me. And I guess that is also our story — a partnership where we blindly trust each other over all things, over everyone else. He is my team, and I am his. We protect each other over everything and anything, and we will support each other at all times. We know how valuable our hearts are, and we make sure we treasure them like the incredible blessings they are.

Our love is a type of love I didn’t believe existed. It surpasses everything I have ever seen, read, or dreamed about. It is honest and humble, fully focused on the other, making sure that we are present in our partnership meeting our partner's expectations, wants, and needs. Putting someone else's happiness in front of your own isn't something that comes easy for many of us. For me, when it comes to him, it is natural and brings me joy! I know he reciprocates countless times over, and you know, that’s where the real difference is. That’s when you realize you have found your other half — when our needs are no longer ours because they are being taken care of by our other half.

What can we say? We are fully, crazy, madly in love and with our minds clear in a decision that will be presented as a promise in front of God.
